Kamehameha Highway Road CLOSURE

 

Due to ongoing rail work at the Middle Street Rail Station, there will be a full eastbound closure to the Dillingham Boulevard off ramp on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2022, THROUGH THURSDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2022, from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.  All eastbound traffic from the H-1 Freeway will be diverted onto Middle Street. The Dillingham Boulevard access ramp from Nimitz Highway will be diverted onto Nimitz Highway.  TheBus will service any stops along the detour route.

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route from Kalihi Transit Center, left Middle, right Kamehameha, onto Nimitz, left Ahua, left Nimitz, continue on Nimitz, left Puuhale, right Dillingham, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound:   No detour.

 


STREET BIKERS UNITED – TOYS FOR TOTS CARAVAN 

The STREET BIKERS UNITED – TOYS FOR TOTS CARAVAN will be held on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2022, and is expected to have 4,000 participants.  The caravan will commence at noon from Ala Moana/Magic Island and proceed through the Waikiki area to Waikiki Shell.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

AFFECTED AREAS:

No service in both directions along Kalia Road and Saratoga Road, along Kalakaua Avenue between Olohana Street and the Elks Club, and along Ala Moana Boulevard between Piikoi Street and Kalia Road

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kapahulu/Ala Wai, right Ala Wai, left Ohua, left Kuhio, left Kapahulu, right Leahi, right Monsarrat, left Paki, right Kalakaua to make a left U-turn at Dillingham Fountain, left Kalakaua, and then resume the regular route east.

ROUTE 20, WAIKIKI-PEARLRIDGE 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Ala Moana/Piikoi, left Piikoi, right Kapiolani, right Kalakaua, left Kuhio, left Kapahulu, right Herbert, left Campbell, left Kapahulu, left Paki, right Kalakaua to make a left U-turn at Dillingham Fountain, left Kalakaua, and then resume the regular route east. 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route from Paki/Monsarrat terminus to Kuhio/Olohana, continue on Kuhio, onto Kalakaua, right Pau, left Ala Wai, left Niu, onto Ala Moana, and then resume the regular route after crossing Ena. 

ROUTE 23, ALA MOANA-SEA LIFE PARK 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Mahukona/Atkinson, left Atkinson, right Kapiolani, right Kalakaua, left Kuhio, left Kapahulu, right Leahi, left Monsarrat, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Kuhio/Olohana, continue on Kuhio, onto Kalakaua, right Pau, left Ala Wai, left Niu, onto Ala Moana, and then resume the regular route after crossing Ena.

The KANEOHE CHRISTMAS PARADE will be held on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2022.  The parade will begin on Haiku Road near Windward Mall, proceed onto Kamehameha Highway, onto Kaneohe Bay Drive, and will end at Castle High School.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel from the temporary terminus at Alaloa/Heeia, continue on Alaloa, right Kahuhipa, left Kahekili, take left lanes for access ramp to Likelike, onto Likelike, right Kamehameha, and then resume the regular route.  

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Kamehameha/Windward City Shopping Center temporary bus stop, veer to turn left on Likelike, right Kahekili, right Kahuhipa, left Alaloa, left Haiku, right Heeia, right Alaloa, and then proceed to the temporary terminus at Alaloa/Haiku.  

ROUTE 651, PUOHALA-WINDWARD CITY 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel from Alaloa/Kahuhipa, right Kahuhipa, left Kahekili, take left lanes for access ramp to Likelike, onto Likelike, right Kamehameha, make a left U-turn at Kaneohe Elementary School pedestrian overpass, onto Kamehameha, right Koa Kahiko, veer right to continue on Koa Kahiko, left Mealele, right Namoku, left Mikihilina, right Mokulele, right Kaneohe Bay Dr, right Keana, right Iole, left Mokulele, left Mikihilina, right Namoku, left Mealele, right Koa Kahiko, veer left to continue on Koa Kahiko, and then procced to the temporary terminus at Koa Kahiko/Kamehameha.

The MILILANI HOLIDAY PARADE will be held on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2022.  The parade will begin at Mililani High School on Kipapa Drive, continue past Mililani Shopping Center, right Moenamanu Street, left Kuahelani Avenue, right Meheula Parkway, left Lanikuhana Avenue, and then turn right into Mililani Town Center.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

AFTER PARADE DETOURS

After the parade ends on King Street in front of Honolulu Hale (King/Punchbowl intersection), HPD will re-direct ALL EASTBOUND King Street traffic to turn right on Punchbowl.  Buses will then DETOUR as indicated below:

Routes 1 & 2: TheBus will travel the regular route to King/Punchbowl (King Kamehameha Statue), continue in the right lane of King, right Punchbowl, left Queen, left South, right King, and then resume the regular route.

Routes 4, 11, 51, 54 & 121: TheBus will travel the regular route to King/Punchbowl (King Kamehameha Statue), continue in the right lane of King, right Punchbowl, left Queen, left South, right King, and then turn left to Alapai Transit Center.

WAHIAWA TOWN CHRISTMAS PARADE:  6:30 P.M. TO 8:30 P.M.

Three hundred marchers, two floats, and ten vehicles are expected to participate.  The parade will start at Kaala Elementary School, continue on California, left Cane, left Center, and will finish behind the Wahiawa Transit Center.

 

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3

 

KANEOHE CHRISTMAS PARADE:  9:00 A.M. TO 12:30 P.M.

One thousand eight hundred marchers, forty vehicles, eighteen floats, and five bands are expected to participate.  The parade will start at Windward Mall at Haiku, right Kamehameha, left Kaneohe Bay, and will finish at Castle High School.

 

MILILANI HOLIDAY PARADE:  9:00 A.M. TO 11:00 A.M.

One thousand five hundred marchers, thirty vehicles, ten floats, and two bands are expected to participate.  The parade will start at Mililani High School on Kipapa Dr, continue past Mililani Shopping Center, right Moenamanu, left Kuahelani, right Meheula Pkwy, left Lanikuhana, and then turn right into Mililani Town Center.

 

MAYOR’S ANNUAL TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY/PARADE:  5:00 P.M. TO 11:00 P.M.

Two thousand marchers, fifteen vehicles, and forty floats are expected to participate.  The parade will start at Aala Park, continue on King, and will end at South.

PEARL CITY CHRISTMAS PARADE:  4:00 P.M. TO 6:00 P.M.

Two thousand marchers, thirty vehicles, and ten floats, are expected to participate.  The parade will start at Momilani Elementary School, from Hookiekie, right Hoomoana, left Hoolaulea, and will end at Pearl City Shopping Center.

 

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8

 

KAPAHULU-MOILIILI CHRISTMAS PARADE:  6:30 P.M. TO 7:30 P.M.

Two hundred and fifty marchers and five to eight vehicles are expected to participate. The parade will start at Kuhio Elementary School, westbound on King, to Beretania, left Isenberg, and will end at the Old Stadium Park.

 

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9

 

HALEIWA TOWN CHRISTMAS PARADE:  5:30 P.M. TO 7:30 P.M.

Five hundred marchers, forty five vehicles, five floats, and three bands are expected to participate. The parade will start at Weed Circle, continue on Kamehameha through Haleiwa Town, and will end at Haleiwa Beach Park.

 

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10

 

AIEA COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION CHRISTMAS PARADE:  9:00 A.M. TO 10:30 A.M.

Two hundred marchers, ten vehicles, five floats, and two bands are expected to participate.  The parade will start at Pearlridge Elementary School, eastbound on Moanalua, left Kaamilo, right Ulune, right Aiea Heights, left Halewiliko, and will end at the Aiea Sugar Mill site.

 

KAPOLEI CITY LIGHTS PARADE:  5:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M 

Twenty five vehicles, three floats, and four bands are expected to participate.  The parade will start at Fort Barrette/Kapolei Pkwy, continue west on Kapolei Pkwy, and will finish at Kealakapu.

 

MANOA COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS PARADE:  4:00 P.M. TO 6:00 P.M.

One thousand one hundred marchers, twelve vehicles, and five bands are expected to participate. The parade will start at Noelani Elementary, continue on Woodlawn, onto Kolowalu, right East Manoa, left Lowrey, right Manoa, and will end at Manoa Park.

 

WAIANAE COAST CHRISTMAS PARADE:  10:00 A.M. TO 12:00 P.M 

One thousand marchers, thirty vehicles, thirty floats, five bands, and three horse groups are expected to participate.  The parade will start at Waianae Boat Harbor, continue eastbound on Farrington, and will end at Waianae Mall.

EWA BEACH LIONS CLUB CHRISTMAS PARADE:  9:30 A.M. TO 11:30 A.M.

One thousand marchers, eighty vehicles, twelve floats, and two bands are expected to participate.  The parade will start at Ilima Intermediate School, right Fort Weaver, right Kuhina, right Hanakahi, right North, right Fort Weaver, and will finish at Ilima Intermediate School.

OLOMANA CHRISTMAS PARADE:  2:30 P.M. TO 3:30 P.M.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY – HEEIA STREAM BRIDGE STREET LIGHT IMPROVEMENTS 

The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Design and Construction (DDC) will be conducting upgrades to the Heʻeia Stream Bridge. The construction work will start at 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, on OCTOBER 25, 2022, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. The work crews will begin making modifications to the bridge to install new streetlights. The roadway will remain open during the construction work.
